Bannack Ghost Town

We visited Bannack State Park April of 2018 in Bannack, Montana. Bannack State Park is one of the most well kept together ghost towns in the US. We got there with just over an hour to check out this amazing little mining. It actually had 50 buildings and by 1863 had a population of 3,000 people due to the discovery of gold on July 28th 1862.

On the property you will find old mining carts and gears, the old jail where the walls were reinforced by large nails, and an old school house merry go round. Every building was significantly colder than outside was; especially the larger public establishments such as Hotel Meade where I found a dead bird almost beautifully laid out next to a window on the second story.
